After finishing college, Joanne applied for an office junior position at BPE, thinking that it would just be a good opportunity to gain some office experience. Four and a half years on that is now a very different story.

“When I started working at BPE I didn’t really have a particular career in mind. I had simply applied for the job here so I could get used to working in a business environment.” said Joanne, an avid R’n’B music fan.

“Gradually my skills developed and I began to take on more and more responsibilities. At first it was a bit of typing here and there to help out the other secretaries in my team, but this soon became more regular.” she added.

“I was then approached by our HR department who suggested that I train to become a legal secretary. This was on the recommendation of several people in the commercial property team who had overseen my work. I was of course delighted and took the firm up on its offer straight away.”

“Within a year I have already been promoted and am working hard to improve my skills and further my career. The decision to join BPE has definitely paid off.”
