Glowing testimonials from clients has helped BPE solicitors to secure its best ever ranking in the independent directory, The Legal 500.
‘Impressive’, ‘business-orientated’ and ‘ahead of the game’ are how clients chose to describe BPE when directory researchers asked for feedback on the firm.
BPE lawyers in Cheltenham and Birmingham were highly rated for their core specialisations – proving that the 24-partner firm can hold its own in the competitive legal landscape of the South West and West Midlands.
Staff in Birmingham had particular cause for celebration after the office was ranked in more categories than ever before - namely corporate, commercial property, insolvency and corporate recovery and construction.

Researchers said that under ‘pragmatic and fast-moving’ Senior Partner John Workman, BPE’s corporate team, which now acts for eight AIM-listed clients, was considered ‘ahead of the game.’ The contribution of experienced partner Paul Wakefield, who joined from Clarke Willmott early in 2006, was seen to strengthen the firm’s corporate offering.
For the second year running, the intellectual property expertise of commercial litigation partner Philip Radford was recognised. Commercial partner Iain Garfield was also noted for his professionalism and experience in dealing with IP matters.
