Benefits of property joint ventures
The former Chief Executive of national garden centre chain Blooms of Bressingham Jon Kitching is set to be a keynote speaker at a county seminar which aims to promote the benefits of property joint ventures.
Jon will talk about his experience of entering into a joint venture with investment management company LaSalle to develop various Blooms garden centres throughout the UK at the seminar on November 1.
BPE Solicitors and chartered accountants Hazlewoods LLP have organised the seminar. BPE Partners Antonia Shield and Tim Ward will guide delegates through some of the legal issues to be considered when entering into a joint venture, while Hazlewoods’ Tax Director Nick Haines will provide essential tax tips for developers.
“Joint ventures come in all shapes and sizes and in their simplest form can involve an agreement between a developer and a landowner. Whatever arrangement is appropriate for the particular circumstances, it needs careful consideration to ensure it achieves the objectives of the participants, is tax efficient and does not create any unexpected legal traps,” said seminar chairman and Hazlewoods’ Partner David Pierce.
BPE’s property joint venture expert Partner Antonia Shield said: “We are very fortunate to have secured Jon Kitching as our keynote speaker. His personal insight will provide those attending with a highly practical, firsthand account of exploiting the benefits of property joint ventures.”
