BPE manage sale of specialist glass company
BPE's corporate team has advised on the sale of Hourglass Seal Limited, a Stonehouse-based specialist glass company, to one of the company’s major customers.
Hourglass directors Kevin Averiss and Peter Rushworth will continue to be heavily involved in the day-to-day management of the business supporting the new owners, Customade (UK) Limited of Stonehouse, to ensure the future development of the company.
Other staff at the glass company will continue to be employed by Hourglass Seal Limited.
BPE Corporate Partner Tim Ward managed the sale on behalf of Hourglass for an undisclosed sum.
“The directors of Hourglass already had a good working relationship with the senior management at Customade as they had been important customers for several years. They were keen to continue to help manage the business in the years ahead, working alongside the Customade team. Customade appreciated the strengths of the business they were buying and recognised the strategic benefits of bringing the two companies together,” said Tim.
BPE’s corporate team has the strength in depth to deal with a broad range of corporate transactions. From AIM flotations, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, fundraising, corporate reorganisations and shareholder issues, the team’s quality, speed of response and commercial approach are what helps it to stand out from the crowd.
The corporate specialists at BPE were singled out for particular praise recently by independent legal directory, The Legal 500.
Researchers said that under ‘pragmatic and fast-moving’ Senior Partner John Workman, BPE’s corporate team, which now acts for eight AIM-listed clients, was considered ‘ahead of the game.’
