BPE Solicitors have advised the owners of Gloucester-based Tandy Engineering Services Ltd on their sale to Facilitas Group Ltd.
Tandy Engineering Services Ltd specialises in the design and installation of mechanical and electrical engineering services in the commercial, retail, leisure, housing and public sectors.
The owners agreed to sell a majority share in the business to the South East-based Facilitas Group Ltd, which was keen to broaden its range of services and geographic coverage.
Tandy Engineering Group was established in 1994 by brothers Ian and Steve Tandy after they identified a gap in the market to design, supply, install and maintain M & E Services.
Since then the business, which employs around 30 people, has secured a number of national contracts, supporting major hotel chains, business parks, schools and commercial buildings.
Tandy Engineering will continue to be operated on an “as is” basis by the current team, ensuring continuity and accountability for performance, while supporting and plugging into the opportunities provided by being part of the Facilitas Group.
BPE Corporate Partner John Workman advised the owners on the sale, supported by Corporate Associate Guy Hopson. Keith Felton, of Gloucester-based chartered accountants Berkeley Hamilton supported the owners through the transaction.
Milton Keynes-based law firm EMW advised Facilitas Group.
Tandy director Steve Tandy said: “We are very pleased to have concluded this agreement with Facilitas and look forward to significant future growth.”
Commenting on the transaction John Workman said: “Having celebrated our best ever year in terms of deals during 2007 it is satisfying to hit the ground running in 2008 with a significant deal for a well-known county business. The team at Tandy should be extremely proud of what they have achieved over the past 14 years.”
