A high-spirited group of local business people joined BPE at its annual whisky tasting event last night.

The tutored tasting, led by whisky aficionado Barry King, took the participants on a virtual tour of Scotland, from Bladnoch in the south to Glenfarcias in the north, all the while sampling the best of Scotland’s malts. For each of the spirits guests were guided through the various stages of the identification process, observing the colour and aromas before finally enjoying the taste.

Half way through the evening there was a break in proceedings to give the business owners and professionals at the event the opportunity to exchange news and views while savouring their supper. The delights on offer included beef casserole with dark chocolate which is said to compliment whisky very well.

John Workman, Senior Partner at BPE said: “This event always has a real kick to it and is a great way for like-minded business people in the region to catch up while learning something new and most of all enjoying a wee dram or two.”
