Time Limits
A case of some passing interest to Practitioners was reported last week under the title of Beasley v National Grid.
The Employment Appeal Tribunal upheld a previous decision that application for a Tribunal presented 88 seconds late was out of time.
The Court of Appeal then went on to consider the Employment Tribunal’s decision and agreed with both the lower Tribunals, condluding that they were not in the habit of making exceptions for applications that were only slightly out of time.
Result: claim dismissed.
