Corporate lawyers at BPE have advised a West Yorkshire vocational training company on its share sale to Woodspeen Training Plc.
A & R Training Services Limited provides “apprenticeships” for 16-18 year olds and adults from four training centres in Huddersfield, Halifax, Bradford and Wakefield. Occupational programmes in childcare, health and social care and customer service are a specialism at the company which also provides programmes aimed at people who are currently unemployed.
The owners agreed to sell 100 per cent of the issued share capital of the company to Woodspeen for an aggregate consideration of £3.1 million.
BPE Corporate Partner Tim Ward advised A & R Training on the sale. Commenting on their decision to instruct BPE, former Joint MD at A & R Training Services, Tricia Hague said:
"BPE was recommended to us by Avondale Group who were acting on our behalf. As we had never sold a company before, we were looking for an adviser who talked our language, was committed to getting the deal done and would not cost us an arm and a leg. We were introduced to Tim Ward who acted for us throughout the whole sale. We found him to be responsive, practical and ready to get stuck in to ensure the deal was achieved.”
She went on to say: “Although BPE were based some distance away this was not an issue as they travelled to us and were prepared to spend time with us speculatively. I would recommend Tim Ward to anybody else in our situation.”
