BPE Commercial team boosted by new appointment
Gloucestershire-based BPE Solicitors has strengthened its commercial offering with the recent appointment of Jason Stratford-Lysandrides.
Jason joins the firm’s busy commercial team, lead by Partner Iain Garfield, at a time when its ability to swiftly deliver functional advice is leading to repeat business from existing clients and a number of new instructions.
Well-versed in commercial matters, Jason has a particular interest in intellectual property law. Throughout his career he has advised a wealth of private and public sector clients on issues relating to designs, copyright, data protection, websites, e-commerce, trade marks and patents.
Before joining the legal profession Jason worked as a quantity surveyor for around fifteen years. This experience equipped him with first-rate negotiation skills and the ability to identify with the practical issues faced by business clients.
Jason’s move to BPE involved relocating from Southampton to Cheltenham; something which he was happy to do for the right firm, as he explains: “Finding a City-quality practice in a regional town is not easy, so when I came across the role at BPE I was thrilled. When you know you are going to be working with individuals singled out in the independent legal directories, in an innovative firm that is renowned for punching above its weight, it is not a hard decision to make.”
Commenting on BPE’s decision to hire Jason, Iain Garfield said:
“Jason’s technical ability, particularly when it comes to intellectual property law, is very impressive. What stood out for me though is his commercial acumen and ability to deliver complex legal concepts in plain English. I am positive he is going to be an invaluable member of the team.”
The recruitment of Jason comes straight off the back of another significant appointment at BPE in the firm’s employment team. Lisa Norman recently moved from the Birmingham branch of Bevan Brittan, bringing with her 12 years’ experience in helping hard-pressed HR teams and managing directors solve employment problems.
