BPE establishes niche science and technology team
BPE Solicitors LLP has asked Rob Bryan, a leading light in science and technology, to join its partnership.

Rob will be working alongside Commercial Partner Iain Garfield and Intellectual Property Associate Jason Stratford-Lysandrides, to create what is believed to be one of the UK’s first legal teams dedicated to the science and technology sector.

The former legal chief of Courtaulds Textiles is currently solicitor to the Royal Society, the Royal Academy of Engineering and a high profile public/private sector innovative medicines company, as well as advising such major brands as Le Creuset.

“There has been a consistent demand from major players in the science and technology arena for a legal team with the expertise and industry knowledge to service their needs,” said Rob.

“I am delighted to be joining BPE, an innovative firm that not only has a vision and an appetite to support this new legal team but which also has existing top class lawyers that can support my clients going forward,” he added.

BPE welcomes Rob’s arrival and John Workman, Senior Partner, said:

“It is credit to our reputation in the legal marketplace that Rob chose to join BPE having had approaches from several other major regional law firms.

“BPE has already built a strong foundation of technology clients who rely upon our existing team for advice ranging from intellectual property through to corporate finance. We are confident that Rob, Iain and Jason will make a formidable team going forward and that they will continue to attract new science and technology-based clients to the firm.”

With Rob’s appointment, 20 partners now work at the Cheltenham-based firm.
