BPE goes the extra mile for Footprints Foundation.

In just two months’ time, four staff from Gloucestershire based law firm BPE Solicitors will be setting off on an ambitious charity bike ride, spanning five countries and 900 miles in just ten days.

Senior Partner John Workman, along with Partners Tim Williams, Jon Close and Chief Operating Office Adrian Peake, will be cycling from Luxembourg to Budapest to raise money for The Footprints Foundation. Their goal is to raise £20,000 for the charity, which aims to tackle the problems and issues facing disadvantaged and vulnerable people, and those with significant health issues.

“All the money raised will go straight to the people who need it”, explains John. “BPE, along with Bob Holt, Chairman of Mears Group PLC and founder of Footprints, will be covering all the costs of completing the trip directly, so no money will be taken out of what is raised for travel, accommodation and so on.”

The bike ride follows on from BPE’s previous fundraising project for the charity in October 2011, when a group of ten colleagues travelled to South Africa to help improve and refurbish the land and buildings at Zenzeleni Orphanage, which is supported by footprints.

John continues, “The centre helps to feed hundreds of children each day and gives shelter to local orphans, many of whom have lost their parents to AIDs or have been abandoned by their families. The BPE team assisted with painting and DIY to help rebuild and decorate the existing buildings and gardening to cultivate 30 acres of fields on the land so more food can be grown on site. It was a life changing experience for those who went,  but the orphanage and charity still need support.”

Bob commented, “It will be a gruelling test for the BPE team, but I’m sure they will accomplish their goal. I will be helping by driving the support vehicle and want to thank them in advance from all those who will benefit from their efforts.”

To achieve their goal, the team at BPE need your support, so please dig deep and help them to raise money for a worthy cause. To donate, visit their JustGiving page - www.justgiving.com/BPELuxembourgtoBudapestBikeRidejune2014
