BPE run miles for charity

In just under six weeks’ time, two staff members from Gloucestershire based law firm BPE Solicitors will be running the London Marathon, to raise money for two local charities.

Associate Solicitor Peter Tyrrell and Solicitor Lloyd Anthony will be taking on the famous 26 mile course with the aim of collectively raising over £4000.

Peter, who works in BPE’s Private Client department, is running in aid of The Leukaemia & Intensive Chemotherapy Fund (LINC), a local healthcare charity that works to improve the care of cancer patients in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and South Worcestershire, by providing financial and psychological support.

He commented, “As a trustee of the charity, I see first-hand the amazing work they do on a daily basis. I am proud to be running in support of them in April and hope to raise £2000 to help make a difference. This will go towards funding psychologist sessions and buying equipment such as chemotherapy pumps and examination couches.”

Lloyd is running in support of The Footprints Foundation, a charity which aims to tackle the problems and issues facing disadvantaged and vulnerable people throughout the UK and further afield. A solicitor in BPE’s Litigation team, he has supported the charity before, travelling to South Africa in 2012 to help improve and refurbish the land and buildings at Zenzeleni Orphanage, which provides shelter, a home and someone caring for the children that it can house. It provides them with a school uniform and transport to and from school, it feeds them, puts a roof over their head and a bed to sleep in. It also keeps them safe and off the streets.

It is the first marathon for both solicitors and they are hoping to finish in less than four hours. Lloyd’s t-shirt was kindly designed and printed for free by Hashtag Promo & Design in Gloucester.
