Construction team advise on multi-million pound renovation

Our expert construction team has recently advised Cheltenham developer Logical Living Ltd on the renovation of the former Gloucestershire Echo offices in Clarence Parade, Cheltenham.

The multi-million pound project, which consists of converting the iconic building into 27 luxury flats, along with a restaurant and bar, is being carried out by contractor Barnwood General Works, supported by local mechanical and electrical engineers, ILEC IMEC. Project Managers, Vitruvius Management Services are administering the site and instructed BPE on Logical Living’s behalf.

Anna Wood, Associate Solicitor who led the project commented, “It’s great to be able to support local businesses on local ventures and it was a real pleasure to have the opportunity to draft contracts for this heritage project right on our doorstep. It’s a great sign of the things to come for the town and will contribute to the future development of Gloucestershire.”

The three-storey building is Grade II-listed, and was first built between 1820 and 1850. Once completed, the 20,000 sq ft development is expected to be worth more than £10 million, according to developer and owner Terry Croft.

This work follows on from a recent expansion of our Construction & Engineering team at the start of this year.  The team now comprises of seven lawyers with over 50 years of combined specialist legal experience.
