Celebrated actor to compere ‘Innovation Rocks’ event

Actor, comedian and scientist, Ben Miller, has recently been announced as the compere for ‘Innovation Rocks’, a ‘Rock the Cotswolds’ event highlighting and celebrating the Cotswolds’ finest innovators, inventors and entrepreneurs.

Sponsored by BPE Solicitors, Innovation Rocks is an all-day event that will take place on Friday 10 June at The Renishaw Innovation Centre in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire. The event gives budding entrepreneurs the opportunity to present their business plans and ideas to active venture capital companies and investors.

Ben Miller, perhaps best known as one half of comedy duo Armstrong and Miller, always had a keen interest in science, studying for a PhD in Cambridge, before leaving his thesis behind and pursuing his love of comedy.

Having made multiple appearances on our screens over the years, Miller returned to his scientific background with his book, ‘It’s Not Rocket Science’, later co-presenting an ITV entertainment series of the same name in which a number of popular celebrities took part in thrilling large scale experiments.

Ben said: ‘I’m delighted to be involved with Innovation Rocks and can’t wait to help reveal the amazing ideas and entrepreneurs which rock the Cotswolds.’

John Workman, BPE Senior Partner, added: ‘As an entrepreneurial business, we work with many innovative companies and people. Supporting Innovation Rocks and aspiring entrepreneurs, and encouraging the next generation of innovation is a high priority for us.’

Entries for Innovation Rocks have been open since January of this year and shortlisting has now commenced. Successful entrants will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas in front of some of the country’s top investors at the event on 10 June. Finalists and attendees will also hear from keynote speaker, British inventor and star of Channel 4 series ‘Tom’s Fantastic Floating Home’, Tom Lawton, along with expert advisors in the field of innovation.
