BPE Solicitors host a Jolly Nice networking evening

Attendees from the Stroud RePLY networking group enjoyed an evening centred on the Jolly Nice Farm Shop & Takeaway Café, learning about the business history and the key to its success.

The RePLY events are jointly hosted by legal firm, BPE Solicitors, and Randall & Payne Chartered Accountants, to highlight and promote the brilliant businesses in Stroud and the Five Valleys. Each RePLY event is hosted at one of these businesses, and during this event, the 35 guests heard from Jolly Nice Managing Director and Owner, Rebecca Wilson. She spoke about the history and growth of the business, and attendees also heard from Antonia Shield, Partner and Head of Commercial Property at BPE.

Antonia commented: “Jolly Nice is a great example of a successful and ethical business that has achieved high growth in the Cotswolds during its lifetime. Rebecca and Simon have a clear vision for Jolly Nice, and have built solid foundations with local suppliers and the local community which has undoubtedly ensured that they will remain in the Cotswolds for years to come.”

The event was held in a yurt in the Jolly Nice Farm Shop & Café, and attendees were able to enjoy the sunshine as well as being treated to a selection of produce from the on-site shop, which recently won the Best Independent Retailer at the Cotswold Life Food and Drink Awards.

Rebecca talked to the group about how their staff are part of the customer experience at Jolly Nice and are a key factor in their success, especially as they contribute to the vibrant atmosphere. She believes that it is important to provide young people with important skills, whilst maintaining Jolly Nice’s fun ethos.

“We were very happy to have the opportunity to get involved with the RePLY networking group and tell people more about the business; it was a fantastic evening,” Rebecca said. “We are incredibly proud of how far we have come in just three years. Jolly Nice began in October 2013 with just four members of staff who shared a passion for home-grown, local produce. Three years on and we have more than 30 employees, great relationships with our suppliers and a reputation for being exactly what we say – Jolly Nice!”

Randall & Payne Partner Rob Case says “Gloucestershire, in particular the Stroud District, has seen many great businesses establish themselves into fantastic operations from small beginnings and Jolly Nice is a great example. The RePLY events help us to learn more about the success stories of the host business as well as to meet and network with the business leaders of the Five Valleys. Each event gives news of a different success story and we are pleased to be able to provide the forum on which this can happen.”  Details of the next event will be announced shortly.
