BPE Solicitors advises on acquisition and development of major new healthcare surgery

Three of Cheltenham-based BPE Solicitor’s teams joined forces to advise on the merger of three doctors’ surgeries to create one new super practice in Cheltenham.

Partners in the Commercial Property, Corporate and Construction and Engineering teams advised on all elements of the transaction which sees Crescent Bakery Surgery, Royal Crescent Surgery and Berkeley Place Surgery come together under one roof, with the provision of a pharmacy and dentist, to provide care for around 25,000 people.

Head of Property Services, Jo Bewley, led throughout the development, providing advice on specific matters including the acquisition and leases for the land on Prestbury Road while Corporate Partner, Adam Kean, lent his corporate expertise to the project on the required funding arrangements. Newly promoted Head of Construction & Engineering, Anna Wood, advised on the construction elements of the transaction.

BPE has a history of advising in the health care sector having worked on a similar project in Bishops Cleeve last year.
