The Mental Health Foundation confirms that 1 in 6.8 people experience mental health problems in the workplace, and that 12.7% of all sickness absence days can be attributed to mental health conditions. When you look at the statistics there is a lot more to be done to help businesses and the individuals involved.

The tale of cinema design which had a stellar cast but no script

In the recent case of Freeborn & Goldie -v- Mr Daniel Marcal t/a Dan Marcal Architects the architect was found liable for damages to clients by whom he had been retained to design and project manage the construction of a new cinema in their London home. The case considers scope of retainer, duty of care and measure of damages but importantly turned on the evidence of fact, in respect of which Mr Marcal’s case was woefully lacking.
