Since qualification nearly 20 years ago, I’ve specialised in residential property development work, particularly retirement village development; from site acquisition through the complete development cycle up to, and including, the plot sales. In recent years I led a department of 40 people specialising in plot sales and post-acquisition work for national housebuilders and retirement village developers. We consistently delivered on our clients’ financial half-year and year-end requirements – even when we had to hit a moving target!
Whenever possible, I make sure I get to know my client’s business inside out, whether that be by visiting a site and watching the development take shape or through understanding their needs through years of repeat instructions. This knowledge allows me to focus on what really matters to the client and not be side-tracked with unimportant issues.
My ideal client is innovative and entrepreneurial, who appreciates that we have industry specific expertise that allows us to make judgement calls and solve problems for them without needing constant instruction.
