Personal Disputes

Legal issues surrounding any personal dispute will always have additional stresses and issues. Our private client and family teams understand the sensitive nature of family proceedings and the long term impact and issues that can surround them.

Personal Disputes

Shareholder Concerns

If you are a shareholder and feel that your rights have been ignored, maybe you've been excluded from the management of the business, or perhaps you haven't received you profit share dividends, or maybe you have concerns that another shareholder is acting against your wishes. We can talk you through the options open to you.

Your consumer rights

If you've paid for something that is of poor quality, doesn't work or is not as described, or been injured or generally felt aggrieved by the attitude of powerful retailers, you may decide to take action by investigating your consumer rights and remedies.

We can let you know if you have a valid complaint under UK law and what you can do to put things right.

Protecting your personal and private information

The Data Protection Act controls how your personal information can be used by organisations and busineses. Everyone responsible for using data has to follow strict guidelines to make sure the information is used in the correct way. If you are unhappy about the way your personal data has been used, please get in touch.

What to do if you've bought defective goods

If you have bought a product that develops a fault, you are entitled to a refund, repair or replacement under the Sale of Goods Act. You should contact the retailer as soon as you notice the fault. You have the right to reject your item and obtain a refund within four weeks of purchase. You can also ask the retailer to repair or replace your item within 6 months of purchase and use your guarantee or warranty if the item develops a fault.

If you're having difficulties, we can help ensure your rights are protected.

Incorrect professional advice, professional negligence

When a professional provides you or your business with a service or advice, they have to meet a standard of care and a level of service as they are accountable to you.

If you suffer a loss due to the advice or service they supplied or lack of it, we can help you assess whether they are required to reimburse such losses, taking them to court if necessary.

Professional negligence can be found in all walks of life and includes claims against solicitors, accountants, surveyors and financial advisers. If you are an individual we understand how distressing it can be to have been let down by your advisors having placed your trust and reliance on them.
