BPE Solicitors advises on the conditional sale of Greenway Nurseries to Burrington Estates
The Commercial Property team at BPE Solicitors, led by partner Paul Englebrecht, have advised the Owners of Greenway Nurseries on a conditional sale of the Nursery along, Shurdington Road in Cheltenham to Burrington Estates, a dynamic and growing property developer. The deal is conditional on planning permission being obtained. There were mixed feelings about this deal as the family run Garden Centre has been operating since the 1960’s and is set to be transformed into a luxury residential project providing up to 36 new homes. The owners have worked hard and faced many challenges along the way and will continue their efforts.
Burrington Estates recently won a coveted Bronze award in the ‘Best Small Housebuilder’ category in the 2022 WhatHouse? Awards, and just last month acquired land at Stratton in Cornwall with planning permission for 30 new homes.
Tim Cheater, who owns Greenway Nurseries along with his Brother Alan Cheater, said “BPE were instrumental in getting this deal to exchange and we can’t thank Paul and the team enough for their hard work, support and efficiency. He kept us fully up to date to make informed decisions along the way and went beyond what was expected in making the deal happen”.
Paul added “It was great to get this deal over the line as there was much interest in the site. The clients were a pleasure to deal with and this is a perfect landfill site which is hoped will obtain the consent sought. A special mention to Phil Pratt at Alder King for his patience and perseverance too!”
