Support for your business

Commercial Disputes

We scrutinise the small print and see the bigger picture

Commercial contracts make your business tick. So not understanding the terms of a contract you sign can have significant implications on both your business – and on you. We’re here to give you the guidance you need to sign contracts with confidence, advise on contracts where terms have been broken or where there have been breaches of contract on either side.

Our experience tells us the best action isn’t always court action. So we’re keen advocates of ADR and we’ll work with you to try and resolve matters favourably via mediation or other forms of resolution wherever possible. We always act in your best interests and give you advice based on what’s best for your immediate and long-term commercial goals.

Equally, we’re not afraid to pursue your case robustly through the courts should that be necessary. Or to vehemently defend you if you’re a Defendant to a claim.

The support you need, from beginning to end

The decisions you make now can impact your business for many years to come. So we’ll give you the clear advice you need every step of the way, from signing new contracts with confidence to terminating existing contracts correctly. Members of our litigation team have been recognised by the Legal 500 as exceptional individuals in their field and our service is personal and flexible. We’ll always tailor our services and the way we work together to meet your goals.

Breach of Contract and Terms

Any breach of contract can escalate quickly so we’re on hand to act fast. Our team is partner-led and you can rely on us to give you the clarity and certainty you need to resolve contract breaches quickly, efficiently and in your best interests. You’ll always know which member of our team you’re talking to.

Termination of Contract

Terminating a contract, or changing your contract obligations, can get complicated – fast. We provide practical advice to clients seeking to end a contract as well as those who are threatened with the cancellation of a contract against their will. We’ll check your notice conditions and the provisions for termination, spotting any tricky clauses that might hinder the process.  We are trained to examine every termination clause within the contract, so we can offer the best possible advice for our clients to avoid litigation.

Injunctive Relief/Specific Performance

If a contracting or commercial party is threatening to breach a contract, or to infringe upon your commercial rights, we’ll help you obtain an order from the Court forcing the defaulting party to stop their threatened action, or even to force them to perform their contractual obligations.
