What is mediation?

Mediation is a flexible, voluntary and confidential form of alternative dispute resolution, in which a qualified and trained neutral third party assists parties to work towards a negotiated settlement of their dispute, with the parties retaining control of the decision on whether or not to settle and on what terms.

If successful, mediation can resolve a dispute in days, instead of months. There is no better time than now to explore mediation as a method of resolving a dispute or ongoing litigation. Successful mediation can avoid expensive and time consuming litigation.

Why mediate?

  • Reduction of costs, lost opportunity and/or management time

  • Certainty over dispute

  • Business relationships can be preserved or enhanced

  • Long-term relationships restored

  • Settlements can be kept confidential

  • Speedier resolutions with mediation lasting hours

  • Low risk exposure – “nothing to lose”

  • High chance of settlement

  • Fast, flexible and low risk.
