Litigation Solicitor (maternity cover)
About the Role
We are looking for a capable and commercially minded Litigation Solicitor to join our growing Litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor who enjoys managing a varied caseload, providing practical advice to clients, and working collaboratively to achieve strong outcomes in contentious matters.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a varied caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters from initial instruction through to resolution.
Draft pleadings, witness statements, correspondence, applications, settlement agreements and other legal documents.
Conduct legal research and provide clear, strategic advice to clients on risk, prospects and next steps.
Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, interim applications and court hearings where appropriate.
Work closely with colleagues across the firm to deliver a responsive, high-quality client service.
Maintain accurate files, meet compliance requirements and contribute to effective case management.
Support business development activity, including client relationship building and professional networking.
About You
Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales, ideally with experience in litigation or dispute resolution.
Strong knowledge of civil procedure and confidence handling contentious matters.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
Commercial awareness, sound judgement and a practical approach to problem-solving.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
A proactive, client-focused approach and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team.
