High flying legal-eagles

Gloucestershire-based law firm, BPE Solicitors, once again has cause for celebration as the annual Legal 500 rankings have been released, listing BPE in no less than nine categories. Twenty-two of the firm’s lawyers are named as recommended in their fields and Rebecca Maxwell gained recognition as a ‘next generation’ lawyer.

BPE’s employment, commercial property and commercial litigation teams led the charge, appearing in the top Tier 1 level of the rankings, followed closely by six other teams across corporate, commercial and private client areas.

Such a diverse range of listings only serves to underline the depth and breadth of experience and excellence across all of BPE’s teams.

“Listings are created based on a number of factors including technical strength, prestige of key clients, market share and a firm’s reputation for handling complex cases,” explains John Workman, Senior Partner. “BPE achieves all of this, year on year, and we are proud of our client list. With leading names in Gloucestershire and the South West, combined with nationally known commercial clients including the likes of Stobart Group and Mears Group, it’s clear that the high opinion of our lawyers in their respective fields is well deserved.

“Being included in the Legal 500 rankings is important for us as it recognises our work and the expertise of our staff, not just at partner level, but throughout the teams. We believe the service we provide to clients is outstanding, and seeing so many teams and lawyers mentioned is a real testament to their hard work and dedication.”

Alongside the teams and recommended lawyers, the listings also highlight Rebecca Maxwell as a ‘next generation lawyer’. Rebecca was made a Partner in 2016 and led the team working on the deal for Stobart Group. ‘Rebecca has made a great contribution to the firm,’ said John. ‘It’s great to see Rebecca recognised as a next generation lawyer. She’s been instrumental in a number of deals – since joining the firm from Pinsents – and has taken to BPE and its unique culture like a duck to water.’

The BPE lawyers individually recommended in the rankings were: Lisa Gettins, Tim Gofton, Heyma Holmes, Sarah Lee (twice), Antonia Shield, Doug Armstrong, Jo Bewley (twice), Rebecca Maxwell, Anthony Rudge, Emma Payne, Iain Garfield (twice), Louise Grzasko, Tim Ward, Zoe Reynolds, Jonathan Sawtell-Gist, Philip Radford, Riyaz Jariwalla (twice), Tom Hall, Helen Cankett, Jemma Jones, Clare Young and Peter Tyrrell. “These, mostly younger (at least younger than me!), colleagues are a privilege to work with” comments John.  “Some have spent their entire career here whilst others have come from national firms but all embody the BPE commitment to clients”.
