Into the back of the net for BPE’s ‘Nosh and Becks’ tournament

BPE Solicitors’ Commercial Property Team welcomed back a host of property professionals for another round of the firm’s annual table football tournament, ‘Nosh and Becks’ on Thursday 7 November.

The highly popular tournament and networking social saw 50 people attend, and 16 teams participate in the fast-paced, nail-biting game. Attendees including regional property businesses, accountants, architects, banking groups and financial advisors, came together to go head-to-head in the hope of claiming ultimate victory. Many pairs opted for creative and clever team names such as ‘Unathletico Madrid’ and ‘ABCDE FC’, however, surprisingly no one opted for ‘Rooney vs Vardy’ or ‘WAGatha Christie’.

Teams were put through their paces for seven rounds in the group stages. In the end the grand final saw Coombes Everitt Architects, last year’s runners up, compete against The Dark Horses, from Lloyds. Coombes Everitt Architects came out on top, thrashing The Dark Horses, 10 goals to 2.

Commenting on the evening, Jo Bewley, Equity Partner and Head of Property, said: “It’s fantastic to see that Nosh and Becks is still as exciting and as well-attended as it was when we first started it many years ago. Events like this aren’t only a bit of fun and stir a healthy bit of competition, but also enable us to connect with and develop our property network in the region. It’s a great opportunity for so many hard-working individuals to meet other like-minded professionals and also let off a bit of steam in the process. Here’s to many more years of this tournament to come.”
