William Pearce joined BPE in September 2022 as our first ever Legal Apprentice - a role that will see him study alongside working full time. We asked him what he's learnt so far at BPE.
What is a Paralegal Apprentice? And which team have you joined?
As a Paralegal Apprentice I’m studying both academically and practically to gain a qualification as a Paralegal. I am currently in the Corporate team.
What are you most looking forward to as an Apprentice?
I'm most looking forward to working on ongoing cases and gaining the skills to work fluidly and independently.
What is the best thing about being an Apprentice?
The best thing about being an apprentice is being able to apply the skills I gain through my studies into a real life situation and gain the practical experience alongside the academic experience.
What is your favourite memory of BPE so far?
My favourite memory so far has been playing table tennis in the basement at lunch and getting to know the other trainees and paralegals whilst playing against each other.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given so far?
The best piece of advice I've been given has been "Remember KISS - Keep it simple, stupid".
What have you learned so far?
So far, I've learned about share and asset acquisitions, IPOs, shareholders and directors, share classes and the process of buying and allotting shares.
