Cummings County Quiz on Radio Gloucestershire

A team of dedicated BPE professionals took part in the Cummings County Quiz on Radio Gloucestershire last week.

For those of you who don’t know what this is, it’s a morning quiz on the radio where teams compete to win up to a maximum of 10 points each day, written and hosted by Mark Cummings live on Radio Gloucestershire.

The team made a strong start: 8 out of 10 on Monday morning.

This was later bumped up to 10 out of 10 following a legal appeal. We did know that the road leading to Hartpury is the A417.

Tuesday and Wednesday were also promising, scoring a respectable 9 out of 10 on both days.

Mid-week we were in a fantastic position: 28 out of 30.

And then Thursday came. We were thrown by the mystery voice, didn’t know it was Charles Keyte of Snowshill Manor who invented the sewing machine (not the lawn mower), and don’t even mention the connection between Leighterton and lettuce. We redeemed ourselves by knowing that Hartpury is further north than Andoversford, though. But that wasn’t enough. We only scored 2.

And then Friday came along…. We just wanted to redeem ourselves from the previous day - we were asked if we were Gloucester Rugby fans –of course we are, so we knew that Jonny May was the former Gloucester winger who now plays for Leicester. We knew that Gloucestershire Airport used to be Staverton Airport and we knew that England cricketer, Jack Russell, attended Archway School - this local (and client) knowledge helped us to score 8 out of 10.

So overall, the team scored a very respectable 38 out of 50.

BPE have been invited to take part again in 2019, and the team did us proud, so thank you to:
