Flexible working

It has recently been announced that new legislation extending the current right to request flexible working to all employees with 26 weeks’ continuous service will become active on 30 June 2014. As part of this the plan is to remove the current statutory process which employers must follow when considering flexible working requests and replace it with a duty on employers to consider requests in a “reasonable” manner.
